Field Day is behind us and went rather well, those that attended enjoyed the day. The Ducks Unlimited Shoot was well attended and we may have some potential members from their ranks for our club. The club is pleased to accommodate DU as we are well aware of the important conservation work that they do. Coming up this fall we will have a doubles trap league, and a Thanksgiving turkey shoot. The winter skeet league starts on 10/18 with the other shoot dates being posted on the website and at the club. Sporting Clays and 5 stand will continue each weekend as long as weather conditions allow. The 2nd holiday shoot will be held here again this year, the date is not set at this time. Pistol House progress remains slow. We are trying to get bids for the air system. The BOD is trying to complete this project in a manner that will insure that the members have a clean safe range to enjoy. We have had a few more people sign up as range officers and that is encouraging because the members are what makes the club work.  Remember the election of officers is at the annual meeting in December. Stop by the club and see what's going on, better yet stop by and get involved in what's going on. John Boardman
Important Pistol House news - see below
PISTOL HOUSE
Regarding the final phase of the pistol house renovation: The club has asked for volunteers to be range officers to run the pistol house. Response to this request has been very poor. I would just like to mention that this is a member run club , we have no employees. By running the club this way we are able to keep costs to a minimum for our members. Perhaps some have used facilities that are run for profit, if so you can generally expect to pay at least 3 to 4 times what we charge.
I'm really saddened when I see the club willing to spend the money to complete this project, but not enough interest from the pistol shooters to run it.
We will keep trying to recruit range officers, our next step will be through a mailing. Interested members can contact Pistol Chairman: George Beaudry at geotv@msn.com. Thank you for any help you can offer the club.

John Boardman.
